ExtensionsConvertionsToShort Method (String, NumberFormatInfo)

Tries to convert a String to an Int16. Returns MinValue if target cannot be parsed.

Parameters

target
Type: SystemString
The string to convert
numberformat
Type: System.GlobalizationNumberFormatInfo
An object that supplies culture-specific formatting information about target.

Return Value

Type: Int16
Returns a short that represents the converted string

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type String. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
